I recently discovered the excellent NodeBox through a post by Brendan Dawes.

NodeBox is a Mac OS X application that lets you create 2D visuals (static, animated or interactive) using Python programming code and export them as a PDF or a QuickTime movie.

The possibilities for creating art are endless by modifying the code and external libraries. I love the idea of design meeting technology, and is reminiscent of John Maeda who is dedicated to linking design and technology.
